Summary: We are seeking a strategic, data-driven, and collaborative Senior Director of Forecasting & Supply Planning to lead our integrated planning and inventory strategy across demand forecasting, supply planning, and vendor performance. This role plays a critical part in aligning supply and demand, driving forecast accuracy, reducing excess inventory, and enhancing supplier reliability to support multi-channel growth across wholesale, direct-to-consumer, and in-house production. This cross-functional leader will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Development, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Forecasting & Integrated Business Planning

  • Lead the monthly and quarterly demand planning process, incorporating inputs from Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product launches.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy, service levels, and inventory turns.
  • Analyze sales trends, POS data, and market dynamics to enable proactive planning decisions.
  • Oversee S&OP and IBP processes to align demand signals with capacity and inventory strategies.
  • Create and publish a bottom-up, data-informed forecast that supports company revenue goals.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Development, and Logistics to align goals and execution
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Lead and mentor a team of planners, analysts, and buyers.
  • Promote strategic visibility of the planning function across the organization.
  • Participate in executive discussions on forecast risk, inventory health, and supply continuity.

Process Development & System Optimization

  • Improve planning systems and tools (ERP, MRP, dashboards) to reduce manual processes.
  • Collaborate with IT, data, and ERP teams to increase automation and data visibility.
  • Build scalable processes for long-range planning and inventory control.

Vendor Management & Purchasing Collaboration

  • Partner with global sourcing and procurement teams to ensure continuity of supply and cost-effectiveness.
  • Build strategic vendor relationships to support service-level improvements and responsiveness.
  • Track KPIs related to vendor reliability, quality, lead times, and resolution of issues.
  • Manage and support purchasing operations by enabling better planning inputs and demand visibility.

Supply & Inventory Planning

  • Align forecasts with internal manufacturing, external supply capabilities, and warehouse capacities.
  • Define and maintain optimal inventory targets by location by product line, seasonality, and channel.
  • Design cost-effective supply plans to meet service levels while minimizing excess/obsolete inventory.
  • Partner with commercial teams on sell-through or reduction strategies for overstock positions.
  • Ensure planning assumptions align with factory loads, lead times, and logistics.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office

 

Education/Experience/License Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, operations, or required field is highly preferred. Equivalent working experience is acceptable.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, supply chain, or operations, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience in consumer goods, with multi-channel operations (DTC, retail, wholesale, manufacturing).
  • Proven success in S&OP leadership and forecast improvement.
  • Strong command of planning software (NetSuite, SAP IBP, Oracle, Anaplan).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
