Hours Available: M-F 8:00am-4:30pm EST (30-minute unpaid lunch break)

FLSA Class: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Physical Address: 1953 Langston Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730

Salary Range: $15.42 - $23.13 per hour (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)

Summary: The Maintenance Helper is responsible for assisting with maintaining and adhering to our preventative maintenance program as it pertains to production machinery and the facility. This position is considered a hybrid position which will share responsibilities between facility utilities, recycling initiatives and assisting with machine/mechanical maintenance.

 

Essential Functions (include but not limited to):

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and plumbing-related issues.
  • Assist with facility-related projects.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance procedures on all production machinery.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with management regarding proper use of equipment and machinery.
  • Participate in annual trainings (LOTO, Machine Operator, miscellaneous equipment, etc)
  • Take preventative safety measures throughout the facility (guard rails, inclement weather, lighting, water leaks, filtration systems etc)
  • Assist maintenance tech with resources requested and assist in building prototypes.
  • Assist with Power Industrial Truck (PIT) maintenance.
  • Conduct interior and exterior facility-related maintenance
  • Separate and bale scrap materials.
  • Assist with keeping facility cleanliness to standard (floor sweeper, dust and debris cleanup on elevated areas).
  • Report to maintenance calls in a live manufacturing environment
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years minimum experience in manufacturing facility maintenance
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)

· Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office

 

Sensory Requirements: Should have working use of hearing and vision with or without the use of corrective lenses/hearing aids to be able to read paperwork, work on a computer screen, and frequently speak on the phone.

 

Environmental: Factory setting, large open area, exposure to heavy machinery and motorized vehicles, exposure to extreme temperatures, loud and fast-paced environment, and occasional stressful situations. Limited Climate Control.

 

Education/Experience/License Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • General mechanical aptitude
  • 1-3 Years previous maintenance experience a plus
  • Forklift operation experience a plus

 

Language Skills: English proficiency required (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension). Knowledge of an additional language(s) is a plus!

 

Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic and algebra

 

Reasoning Ability: Solid understanding of branding and marketing communications strategies and tactics; excellent planning and problem-solving skills with limited resources; ability to effectively prioritize and project manage multiple assignments at any given time. Ability to use judgement to make important decisions.

 

Work Environment: Manufacturing/Warehouse setting. Loud and fast-paced environment, limited climate control.
