Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and hands-on VP - Forecasting, Demand & Supply Planning to design and lead our end-to-end planning ecosystem—including demand forecasting, supply and inventory planning, purchasing, and vendor management. This leader will not only manage day-to-day transactions and tactical execution but will also set the long-term vision for how planning supports the business: building scalable processes, implementing best-in-class systems, and aligning supply chain capabilities to deliver on our growth strategy.
The ideal candidate blends the art and science of planning—leveraging data, systems, and forecasting models while flexibly responding to evolving customer and business needs. They will be a cross-functional thought partner to Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Product Development, ensuring planning decisions are financially sound, operationally feasible, and customer-first.
Key Responsibilities:
Vision & Strategy:
-
Define and execute the long-term strategy for forecasting, demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, purchasing, and vendor performance.
-
Develop a planning philosophy that balances forecast accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer responsiveness.
-
Establish a roadmap for scaling systems, processes, and teams as the business grows.
Demand Forecasting & Integrated Business Planning
-
Lead and continuously evolve the monthly and quarterly forecasting and IBP cycles.
-
Incorporate insights from Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product Development to create bottom-up, data-driven forecasts that support revenue and profitability goals.
-
Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy, service levels, inventory turns, and supply continuity.
-
Use advanced analytics, ERP/MRP systems, and demand planning tools to enhance decision-making and reduce bias in planning.
Supply, Inventory & Purchasing Leadership
-
Oversee inventory planning strategies that balance working capital with customer service expectations.
-
Ensure supply plans align with internal manufacturing capacity, external vendor lead times, and warehouse/logistics capabilities.
-
Partner with procurement and sourcing to manage vendor relationships, negotiate effectively, and resolve supply challenges.
-
Develop cost-effective purchasing and inventory strategies that mitigate risk while supporting growth.
Cross-functional Leadership & Influence
-
Serve as a key voice in executive-level discussions on forecast risk, supply continuity, and inventory investment.
-
Partner with Sales & Marketing to proactively plan for promotions, launches, and market shifts.
-
Collaborate with Operations and Finance to ensure planning decisions are aligned with production, cost targets, and financial health.
-
Advocate for the planning function across the organization, increasing visibility and trust in forecasting as a driver of strategic success.
Process & System Excellence
-
Optimize and scale planning systems (ERP, MRP, forecasting tools, dashboards) to reduce manual work and increase automation.
-
Collaborate with IT and data teams to improve integration, reporting, and visibility across the business.
-
Champion the use of technology and data-driven tools to enable smarter, faster decisions.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of planners, analysts, and purchasing specialists.
-
Build a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
-
Develop the team’s technical expertise in ERP/MRP systems, planning models, and forecasting analytics.
