Salary Range: $63,250 - $121,600 (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)

About the Position:
Our Category Manager will be responsible for owning a specific bedding category or categories and help with the execution of key launches that push BEDGEAR’s business forward. Besides driving product development and assortment strategy, the Category Manager will own product launch calendars, timelines and facilitate cross-departmental processes.

The Category Manager will also conduct research on their specific bedding category or categories and identify how competitors are bringing forth their products to maintain a competitive advantage and differentiated product & service assortment.

What's Expected (includes but is not limited to):

  • Understanding the competitive landscape and white spaces, drives product development to bring new goods and services to market with a category strategy (considering trends, channel, pricing strategies, and action plans)
    • Produces line plans for development
  • Develop competitor matrix spreadsheets of products, pricing, packaging, specifications, warranties, features and benefits, and in-store/online display
  • Manages cross-functional time and action calendar for delivering new products to market
    • Leads product launch meetings with multiple stakeholders and gives overview of product vision to product development and marketing teams
  • Manages cross-functional time and action calendar for mass production to deliver to customers
  • Maintains an up-to-date assortment grid of all existing products in category/categories managed
  • Reviews and analyzes sales performance and trends for products managed and develops action plans to achieve sales & margin goals
    • Participates in cross-functional meetings with F&P and sales to get insights and feedback from the field. Pushes for sales achievement
    • Responsible for leading end-of-life collaboration meetings with various departments
  • Inputs creative briefs for special creative projects
  • Responsible for all sales sample requests and showroom inventory
  • Responsible for product set up at tradeshows (market)
  • Clerical and administrative duties related to essential functions
  • Assist in additional duties/projects as requested by management

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • HS Diploma or GED and College degree
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking/listening, comprehension)
  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed for tradeshows and/or events as necessary
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook proficiency


Education/Experience/License Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience with diverse marketing responsibilities, including familiarity with product launches, competitive research/analysis, sales enablement tools, branding, trade shows, etc.
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Experience working with all internal stakeholders, seniority levels and departments
