 As a Production Associate, you must be able to work at an urgent pace while maintaining accuracy and high-quality output. We are looking for team members who take pride in the efficiency & quality of their work and have a driven and focused attitude.

Our facility operates under the lean philosophy that everyone should be cross-trained and be able to do virtually every job on the production floor.

 

Job Functions:

  • Beater/Bagger- “Whomps” the pillows by repeatedly beating the pillow with both hands to smooth out the fill within. Requires constant standing. Inserts a half core and zips pillow closed.  Ensures quality standard before packaging pillow into a bag or box.
  • Retail Box Maker – Erects retail cartons for the finished good pillows.  This position always requires constant standing while keeping up with the production line by keeping the conveyor full with empty, erected retail cartons
  • Retail Box Closer – Closes retail cartons on a conveyor and packs pillows two at a time into master cartons
  • Master Carton Maker/Stacker- This position must verify the shipping labels with the work order before labeling master cartons.  Once master cartons are labeled, they will be erected and taped on the bottom side of the carton.  Once a master carton if filled with the maximum number of pillows, the carton will be taped shut and stacked 5 high then moved into a separate location by using a pallet jack.  This position requires constant lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Prep – This area is normally staffed at a minimum of one people.  VZB bags must be “cleaned” by taking tissue paper out from in between the bags.  Paper inserts are inserted into the bags based on the work order and part number of the inserts.
  • Pillow shells are also “cleaned” and stamped with a work order number.  This position requires to be on your feet throughout the majority of the shift.
  • Utility – The person who performs a variety of general housekeeping and organization of the production department. Dump and return of mobile trash dumpsters throughout the department, overall maintenance of bearings on roller buggies, recycling of metals and corrugate, communicating when trash compactors are full, and need swapped out.  This position must also learn to use a bailer for corrugate material

 

Education/Experience/License Requirements:

  • 1 year in operations within a factory environment preferred
  • Experience working with a team
  • Operation of forklift or pallet jack, must be able to pass written and operational skills test
  • Seamstress, 2+ year minimum operating industrial sewing machine preferred

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
  • Must be willing to work mandatory overtime when needed
  • Must be willing and able to submit to pre-employment and random drug testing
  • Must be able to pass all safety training tests

Reasoning Ability: Sound judgment, adherence to safety procedures, ability to follow directions, ability to follow chain of command, understanding of when to involve others in decision making.

Sensory Requirements: Ability to utilize senses such as touch, hearing and vision. If required to wear prescription lenses while operating a vehicle, must also use while operating factory machinery. Keen hearing necessary to hear surroundings while operating machinery. 

Work Environment: Factory setting, large open area, exposure to heavy machinery and motorized vehicles, exposed to extreme temperatures, loud and fast paced environment, and occasional stressful situations.

Language Skills: English proficiency (read, write, speak, comprehend)

Mathematical Skills: Basic Arithmetic
