Summary: We are looking for a skilled Corporate Social Responsibility - Communications Assistant to assist in the development and execution of our corporate social responsibility and communication plans. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, a creative mindset, and the ability to effectively engage with various stakeholders and work cross-functionally. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the company's success by supporting important internal and external communication initiatives as well as aiding the organization of BEDGEAR’s corporate CSR program.

 

 

Essential Functions (include but not limited to):

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainability Initiatives:

 

  • Assist in the execution and management of Bedgear’s CSR strategy, ensuring alignment with company values, industry best practices, and sustainability goals.
  • Manage and maintain the Impact Tracker & CSR Calendar, tracking key milestones, initiatives, and events throughout the year.
  • Support the planning and execution of Impact Day activities, including the Impact Day presentation, collaborating with Human Capital and cross-functional teams to engage employees in meaningful CSR initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and creation of Bedgear’s yearly Impact Report, gathering data, coordinating contributions from different departments, and ensuring alignment with CSR goals.
  • Research and track emerging sustainability trends, ESG regulations, and social impact strategies, providing recommendations to the CSR Manager for improvement.
  • Support the implementation and coordination of green initiatives, recycling programs, and other sustainability efforts within Bedgear’s operations.
  • Partner with internal teams to gather data & support reporting structures.
  • Work with the Bedgear Foundation to assist in donation orders, program coordination, partnership development, and community engagement efforts.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of employee engagement & volunteer programs to drive participation in CSR efforts.
  • Support the CSR Manager in coordinating the monthly Sustainability Council meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, note-taking, follow-ups, and tracking action items for execution.

Internal & Digital Communications:

 

  • Support the communications team on day-to-day management of B2C, B2B, and internal communication needs.
  • Help to manage the blog content calendar, ensuring alignment with marketing strategy.
  • Support the creation and distribution of “The Voice” quarterly internal newsletter, collecting content, drafting sections, and coordinating with contributors.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of quarterly Town Halls, working closely with Human Capital and leadership to ensure clear communication of company initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing and leadership teams to ensure that CSR messaging is integrated into corporate storytelling across digital and internal platforms.
  • Work with the CSR Manager on maintaining a consistent CSR and sustainability presence on Bedgear’s website, updating impact-related content, milestones, and initiatives as needed.
  • Assist in award submissions, including researching opportunities, compiling supporting materials, and tracking submission deadlines.
  • Work with the Communications Dept. on LinkedIn content strategy, posting regular updates that highlight CSR efforts, company milestones, and thought leadership, with goals of increasing engagement and followers.

Qualifications/Requirements:

 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Passion for corporate social responsibility and sustainability
  • Exceptional communication skills, including verbal, written, listening and interpersonal
  • Manages & prioritizes multiple, concurrent projects against timelines
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and accurate

 

Education/Experience/License Requirements:

 

  • 1-2 years of relevant PR or CSR experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, Sustainability, CSR or related field is a plus
  • Associates Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, Sustainability, CSR or closely related field, or two plus years equivalent work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
  • Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office. Strong Excel abilities including formatting, formulas, raw data manipulation, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.
  • Detail Orientated

Sensory Requirements: Should have working use of hearing and vision with or without the use of corrective lenses/hearing aids to be able to read paperwork, work on a computer screen for an extended period of time, and frequently speak on the phone.

 

Environmental: N/A - indoor office environment

 

Language Skills: English proficiency required (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension). Knowledge of an additional language(s) is a plus!

 

Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic and algebra

 

Reasoning Ability: Solid understanding of branding and marketing communications strategies and tactics; excellent planning and problem-solving skills with limited resources; ability to effectively prioritize and project manage multiple assignments at any given time. Ability to use judgment to make important decisions.

 

Work Environment: Indoor office environment most times; will be on location for various media, company, and industry-related events.
