Hours Available: Part-time or Full-time, M-F 8:30am-5:30pm EST (1-hour lunch break)

FLSA Class:  Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000 (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)

Summary: The Photo Assistant/Stylist at Bedgear supports the creative and photography teams by helping execute product and lifestyle photoshoots in alignment with brand guidelines. This role is responsible for preparing and styling sets, sourcing props, assisting with shoot execution, and maintaining an organized, well-equipped studio environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and passionate about visual storytelling and brand aesthetics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with set-up and breakdown of photoshoots, including moving furniture, prepping props, and staging products.
  • Style product and lifestyle scenes according to brand standards, ensuring visual consistency across shoots.
  • Support photographers during shoots by adjusting lighting, holding reflectors, managing cables, or prepping product.
  • Source, organize, and maintain studio props, linens, and accessories in coordination with the creative team.
  • Steam and prepare textiles or products for photography to ensure a polished and camera-ready presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the studio space, equipment, and prop storage.
  • Assist in building mood boards and sourcing ideas for styling direction when needed.
  • Capture and organize behind-the-scenes photos or assist with basic content capture as directed.
  • Coordinate basic errands for prop pick-up/drop-off, styling materials, or studio supplies.
  • Work closely with stylists, photographers, and other team members to ensure efficient shoot execution.

Skills

  • Strong sense of style, color, and composition.
  • Knowledge of home décor, textiles, and styling techniques.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to multitask.
  • Familiarity with basic photography studio equipment and lighting preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to pitch in across tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move props and furniture safely.
  • Interest in interior design, product photography, or home/lifestyle branding.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office

 

Education/Experience/License Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Design, Photography, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a photography studio, retail visual merchandising, styling, or creative support role.
  • Prior experience on commercial photo or video shoots is a plus.
