Job Summary:

The Sleep Coach is responsible for delivering engaging, high-impact product education and performance-driven sales training to retail sales teams across BEDGEAR’s Australian partner network. This field-based role facilitates dynamic group sessions, one-on-one coaching, and in-store merchandising reinforcement to elevate brand execution and drive measurable sales performance.

Serving as a brand ambassador, the Sleep Coach represents BEDGEAR across retail activations, trade events, and new store launches, ensuring consistent delivery of the “Sleep Just Got Personal” positioning. This role requires exceptional presentation capability, strong commercial awareness, adaptability across diverse retail environments, and a passion for coaching and developing others.

Regular travel across Australia and New Zealand, with occasional international travel within APAC, is required.

 

Essential Functions (included but not limited to):

  • Deliver high-impact product and sales training seminars for retail sales teams (group sizes up to 50+) in classroom-style and on-floor retail environments.
  • Provide one-on-one hands-on coaching, role-play exercises, and reinforcement sessions to strengthen selling confidence and product expertise.
  • Facilitate engaging in-person and virtual training sessions aligned to commercial priorities and retail needs.
  • Represent BEDGEAR at trade shows, retail activations, new store openings, and industry events across Australia.
  • Partner closely with Sales Managers and independent representatives to align training delivery with sales strategies and revenue objectives.
  • Conduct in-store merchandising and brand compliance reviews, including floor space analysis and competitive landscape insights.
  • Provide structured post-visit reports with actionable recommendations to improve execution and performance.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance product placement, marketing collateral integration, and overall brand visibility within retail environments.
  • Support onboarding and education of new retail partners and team members.
  • Develop recorded and scalable training modules to support ongoing education and reinforcement programs.
  • Manage territory travel schedules, store visits, and training execution independently.
  • Responsibilities may evolve in alignment with regional growth and business needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Australia and have IDs needed to verify
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required
  • Must have home office with personal laptop for business use
  • Must be willing to participate in a bring your own device (BYOD) cell-phone program (stipend provided)
  • Must have dependable personal vehicle with credible insurance coverage and valid driver’s license
  • Must have a valid passport for travel outside of territory as needed
  • Travel required at least 75% of time
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends and major retail holidays

 

Preferred Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in sales training, product education, retail coaching, or field sales support.
  • Experience within bedding, furniture, specialty retail, or performance-based consumer products highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating both small group workshops and large-scale training sessions (30–50+ participants).
  • Experience developing scalable or recorded training content preferred.
  • Background in retail merchandising, floor execution, or visual standards a plus.
  • Experience working within multi-location retail networks or distributor models preferred.
