Summary: The Photo & Video Specialist is entrusted with the creation, development, and manipulation of non-print creative services under the direction of the Creative Director. Utilizing both internal and external resources efficiently, including their own expertise, they are responsible for delivering high-quality photo and audio/video projects that align with the brand's vision and objectives.

 

Essential Functions (include but not limited to):

  • Support Studio and On-location Productions: The role encompasses a wide spectrum of photo and video needs, ranging from e-commerce and social media videos to on-location lifestyle productions. Additionally, it involves producing in-studio model short-form clips, training videos, brand events coverage, and brand storytelling. Projects may also include illustration and editing-based work within After Effects.
  • Editing and Post-production Leadership: Take charge of all editing and post-production tasks. This includes refining and finalizing assets captured for various digital platforms, ensuring they meet quality standards and adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Conceptualization and Planning: Collaborate closely with the creative team to conceptualize and plan productions. From ideation to execution, contribute ideas and strategies to ensure the visual content aligns with the brand's objectives and resonates with the target audience.
  • Talent Direction and Set Management: Direct talent and actively participate in setting up and capturing lifestyle and still life content on location or in the studio. Provide clear direction and guidance to ensure the desired outcomes are achieved.
  • Feedback Interpretation and Problem-solving: Demonstrate the ability to interpret feedback effectively, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes. Proactively address challenges that arise during production to maintain project momentum and quality.
  • Equipment and Resource Management: Oversee the purchase and handling of all video equipment and software necessary for productions. Maintain the in-house photo studio space, including equipment, storage, and software needs. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance studio output.
  • External Partnerships: Collaborate with external partners to source assistance, props, lighting, or rental equipment as needed. Build and maintain relationships with vendors and rental agencies to ensure access to resources required for successful productions.

 

The Photo & Video Specialist plays a pivotal role in bringing the brand's vision to life through captivating visual storytelling. By leveraging their creative expertise, technical skills, and collaborative spirit, they contribute to the overall success and impact of the brand's multimedia initiatives.

MUST HAVE:

  • Camera Proficiency: Understanding how to use a camera, including settings like aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance.
  • Lighting Knowledge: Ability to use natural and artificial light effectively.
  • Composition: Strong grasp of composition rules such as the rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing.
  • Editing Skills: Proficiency in re-touching in Adobe Photoshop , and Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro for videography. After Effect is a plus!
  • Understanding of Color Theory: Knowledge of how colors interact and the impact they have on the viewer.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office

 

Sensory Requirements: With or without use of corrective lenses or any other visual aid, must be near and far-sighted to be able to inspect and review visual materials in print and digital. Must have full color vision. Will be required to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time. With or without the use of hearing aids, must be able to engage in verbal communication (both in person and on phone) with team and outside parties.

 

Environmental: Job operates in a clerical office setting. Fast-paced office, highly collaborative and creative environment.

 

Education/Experience/License Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty or equivalent working experience.
  • 2+ years professional experience as a videographer.
    • Product/retail and/or agency experience preferred.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating ability to capture a wide range of photography, with an emphasis on product-led work.
  • Expert level competencies within Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Photoshop
  • Expert level understanding of the digital video production processes
  • Proficiency with sound recording workflows and lighting techniques.
  • Must be organized and able to maintain a fast-paced working environment.
  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple competing priorities and be flexible with workload and turnaround times.
  • Work with internal and external teams to utilize video throughout the company, building on our expanding brand.
  • Work with internal sources to pre-conceptualize visual layouts.
  • Organized data management for use by internal sources
  • Coordination between different studios and/or freelancers
     

Language Skills: English proficiency required (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension). Knowledge of an additional language(s) is a plus!

 

Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic and algebra.

 

Reasoning Ability: Customer, marketplace, and product knowledge; strong esthetic sense; highly organized, detail oriented, and accurate; ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively; creative collaboration; ability to work both independently and in a team; working knowledge of audio/visual equipment and software.
