Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to oversee BEDGEAR's quality and compliance operations. This role is critical in ensuring high manufacturing quality across all processes, maintaining vendor performance, and enforcing compliance according to BEDGEAR's Quality and Compliance Guide. The Quality Manager will work closely with Product Development on sampling and establishing performance standards, with the goal of continuously improving vendor capabilities and product quality.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enforce manufacturing quality throughout BEDGEAR’s processes, ensuring alignment with the Quality and Compliance Guide.
  • Conduct product and process inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Manage and maintain vendor compliance documents and performance scorecards, working towards improving vendor quality.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development to establish performance standards and conduct sampling.
  • Develop and implement quality testing protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing and plant operations.
  • Ensure quality standards for incoming raw materials, finished goods, and POP fixtures.
  • Establish and administer compliance testing protocols for third-party and internal testing as required by the Quality and Compliance Guide.
  • Maintain accurate records of all quality and compliance activities, including nominated compliance activities such as OEKO-TEX 100 and Greenguard certifications.
  • Recommend and participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance product and process quality.
  • Process and manage quality-related Cases in system based on customer complaints, ensuring they are reviewed and resolved within 24 hours of Case assignment.
  • Assist in the build-out and maintenance of an internal testing lab, including equipment recommendations.
  • Provide expert knowledge and recommendations for improving manufacturing techniques.
  • Own, manage, and enforce BEDGEAR's Quality and Compliance Guide across all relevant operations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, preferably in textiles, bedding, and accessories, or related industries.
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and improving vendor performance.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in creating and implementing SOPs and quality protocols.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment for textile testing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit frequently.
  • Ability to reach above shoulder, reach outward, handle/finger objects, and bend/squat/kneel occasionally.
  • Proficiency in typing/keyboard usage.

 

Education/Experience/License Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • HS Diploma or GED

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with lean management principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected challenges.
  • Proficiency in project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Sensory Requirements: Should have working use of hearing and vision with or without the use of corrective lenses/hearing aids to be able to read paperwork, work on a computer screen for an extended period of time, and frequently speak on the phone.

 

Work Environment:

  • Primary environment is an indoor office setting.
  • Secondary environments include warehouse and manufacturing settings.

 

Language Skills: English proficiency required (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension). Knowledge of an additional language(s) is a plus!

 

Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic and algebra

 

Reasoning Ability: Solid understanding of branding and marketing communications strategies and tactics; excellent planning and problem-solving skills with limited resources; ability to effectively prioritize and project manage multiple assignments at any given time. Ability to use judgement to make important decisions.
