Summary: The Performance Improvement Engineer will be responsible for elevating our operational performance across manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain processes. This role is critical in optimizing workflows, creating and refining standard operating procedures (SOPs), and driving continuous improvement initiatives. As a key player, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver measurable results.

Essential Functions (include but not limited to):
This person will be responsible for continuously improving and standardizing global supply chain procedures, warehouse management systems, automation systems, facility layouts and manufacturing process design. The Performance Engineer will use lean tools (i.e. Point Kaizen, Kaizen, PDCA, 5S, and A3 Problem Solving, etc.) across all relevant operational departments to project manage and successfully implement process changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Optimization & SOP Development
- Analyze and map current workflows across manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain functions.
- Develop, document, and standardize SOPs to ensure consistency, compliance, and scalability.
- Review and refine existing SOPs to align with best practices and organizational goals.
- Partner with manufacturing and supply chain leaders to ensure SOPs drive operational efficiency and product quality.
- Continuous Improvement Projects
- Identify opportunities to improve labor productivity, reduce waste, and enhance value to customers.
- Lead initiatives to automate manual processes and integrate advanced tools or systems.
- Collaborate with ERP Systems and other stakeholders to test and validate process changes.
- Monitor and report project outcomes, including cost savings, time efficiency, and ROI.
- Training & Change Management
- Train employees on new and updated SOPs, ensuring understanding and adherence.
- Serve as a champion for process adoption by fostering a culture of accountability and ownership.
- Provide ongoing support to teams for troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of current processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop performance dashboards and KPI reports to track progress and outcomes.
- Conduct root cause analysis to resolve operational bottlenecks or issues.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate cross-departmental workshops to gather insights and align on process enhancements.
- Act as a liaison between engineering, supply chain, and distribution teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Support go-live efforts for new process rollouts, including hands-on support and training.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- HS Diploma or GED
- Expertise in process mapping and documentation tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro).
- Experience developing and implementing SOPs in manufacturing and distribution environments.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt certification preferred).
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel
- Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.
- English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
Education/Experience/License Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, or process improvement roles.
- Knowledge of quality assurance processes and standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
- Team-oriented with a proactive approach to driving results.

Sensory Requirements: Should have working use of hearing and vision with or without the use of corrective lenses/hearing aids to be able to read paperwork, work on a computer screen for an extended period of time, and frequently speak on the phone.

Language Skills: English proficiency required (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension). Knowledge of an additional language(s) is a plus!
Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic and algebra
Reasoning Ability: Solid understanding of branding and marketing communications strategies and tactics; excellent planning and problem-solving skills with limited resources; ability to effectively prioritize and project manage multiple assignments at any given time. Ability to use judgement to make important decisions.
