Job Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations at BEDGEAR’s Rock Hill facility, ensuring efficient production flow, team performance, and product quality. This role leads supervisors, coordinates cross-functional support, and drives safety, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Manager acts as a critical link between production teams and corporate leadership.

Essential Functions (included but not limited to):

  • Champion a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with protocols, leading walk-throughs, and addressing workplace hazards proactively.
  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of 30+ associates, including Production Supervisors. Drive team engagement, performance, and accountability.
  • Plan and monitor daily operations to ensure production schedules, efficiency goals, and output standards are met across all lines (mattresses and pillows).
  • Balance staffing needs with order demand. Adjust line assignments and workloads to meet shifting priorities and coverage gaps.
  • Liaise with Inventory Control, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics to ensure synchronized workflow and on-time fulfillment of orders.
  • Track and communicate daily production KPIs. Use dashboards and performance reports to guide improvements and inform leadership.
  • Monitor product quality across all stages of production. Enforce standards, inspect outputs, and coach teams on quality procedures.
  • Respond to machine issues, material shortages, or labor disruptions with urgency. Document downtime events and identify root causes to prevent recurrence.
  • Identify and implement enhancements in line layout, automation, and production sequencing to increase output and reduce waste.
  • Act as a liaison between the Rock Hill production team and the Director of Production & Warehousing, sharing insights on volume, output, staffing, and product performance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required

 

Preferred Education/Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of production management experience (mattress/textile industry preferred)
  • Experience managing teams of 25+ in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong decision-making, urgency, and organizational ability
  • Intermediate math and Excel proficiency required
