About the Position:

The Planning Analyst manages the vertical responsibility of managing and forecasting inventory for specific product categories.

What's Expected (includes but not limited to):

  • Review and develop understanding of current product assortments by retailers
  • Develop communication strategy to build relationship with customers to be able to ensure their business needs are integrated into forecasting methodology
  • Create forecast demand for product category
  •  Manage inventory by category and distribution center locations
  • Maintain in-stock percentage at pre-determined levels
  • Generate and place purchase orders for just-in-time inventory based on lead times
  • Work closely with logistics team on expediting function to be aware of all incoming inventory at all times
  • Engage and participate in regular meetings with various internal stakeholders such as sales, sales operations, brand, and merchandising to stay apprised of changes to product assortments, analyze the current business, drive insights and new opportunities, as well as actively manage the forecast to reflect the changes that impact demand
  • Assist in the development and generation of reporting tools that give visibility to planning and forecasting functions
  • Assist in additional duties and responsibilities as requested
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem analysis and solving skills
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office, Access, and especially Excel

Education/Experience/License Requirements:

  • Associates degree in economics, mathematics, fashion merchandising or closely related field is preferred though will accept comparable work experience
  • 1-3 years of merchandising or production planning
  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Experience with an ERP system (specifically NetSuite) is a plus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Clerical experience (answering phones, filing, faxing, scanning, etc)
